Your inner child is an aspect of your inner wisdom. She has a different perspective on you and your life, one that’s not always available in daily lives. If she’s anything like my inner child, she’s had to go underground and live in darkness to preserve her innocence. In this next exercise, we’re honoring her wherever she is by opening up the channels of communication through a medium that’s familiar to most children, drawing and coloring. By providing this page and offering it up to her so that she can speak, we are gifting her with a spot here at the table to lend us her perspective, to get things off her chest and to offer her unique form of wisdom. We’re going to do this by using your non-dominant hand, letting your inner child take control over it and use it to say what she’s been longing to say through images and words.
